A Journey Home (A Personal Story From The Owner)

So on the way back to the vets, my sister and I found this baby blue jay on the ground. Instead of just leaving him there, my sister and I banded together to find a way to get this bird back into his nest all the way at the top of this big tree. We wrapped the little one in a shirt, placed him in our purse and I climbed up too the top of the tree while my sister guided my ways and placed the bird back in his nest. He wasn’t harmed at all by doing this!!!

Most people would kick the bird, pester him or just leave him there. It took us about half an hour to plan the journey to the top and we got him inside the nest safety. Apparently I was a smooth climber and that was my first tree that I climbed all the way to the top (with two purses wrapped around me) I received a few minor cuts but all in all, it was a good mission….we also did this with out physically touching this young bird as well, and using only what we had on us.

It takes a good person to move the bird to a safe place (which some one originally did by moving him from the road, too the middle of the side walk) but it takes a small few to take this bird, and bring him back all the way home.

The below picture is of the young bird in the purse ready to go up the tree!
